About PhD Programs at IITs
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are India's premier institutions for research and innovation in engineering, science, and technology. 🎓 IMPORTANT! - General Admission Requirements
Eligibility: Master's degree (M.Sc./M.Tech) with first division (60% marks or 6.5 CPI on 10-point scale). Some IITs accept direct PhD after B.Tech with high CGPA (typically 8.0+).
Entrance Exams: Valid GATE/NET-JRF/JEST score. Some IITs conduct their own entrance examinations.
Fellowship: Selected candidates typically receive MHRD fellowship (currently ₹31,000-35,000/month) plus contingency grant.
Application: Applications are generally invited twice a year (July/August and December/January semesters).
